What I do with your information
Short version: I collect what I need to run your audit and reply to you. I don't sell it, share it, or add you to a mailing list. Ask me to delete it and I will.
This policy covers aisearchmarketing.agency, operated by Marcos Azaro from Auckland, New Zealand. It is written to meet the Information Privacy Principles in the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you are in the UK or the EU, the rights described under GDPR are set out below too.
What I collect
Only two things, and only one of them involves you doing anything.
When you submit the audit form
- Your name and email address
- Your business name and website address
- What you sell and who buys it
- Optionally, your target locations and main competitors
- Which area you need most help with
- The date and time, your IP address, browser and the page you arrived from
The last item is collected automatically and used for two things only: blocking spam submissions and working out where enquiries come from. Everything else is what you typed.
When you just browse the site
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address in order to serve the font files. That is the only third party involved in an ordinary page view.
Standard web server logs are kept by the hosting provider, as they are for every website.
Why I collect it
To run the AI visibility audit you asked for and to reply to you about it. That is the entire purpose. Under the Privacy Act this is collection for a lawful purpose connected to my business, and it is collected directly from you.
I will not use your details to send you marketing about anything else, and I will not add you to a newsletter. If I ever start one, joining would be a separate decision you make deliberately.
Who sees it
Me. Your information is not sold, rented, traded or shared with other businesses for their own purposes.
It necessarily passes through the services that run the site and my email:
- DreamHost, which hosts the website and the mailbox the emails are sent from
- Google Fonts, which serves the typeface and therefore sees your IP address
These are infrastructure providers acting on my behalf, not partners I share data with. If I later add a CRM or scheduling tool, this list gets updated before it goes live.
I would only disclose your information otherwise if the law required it.
Where it is stored, and for how long
Submissions are stored on the web server in New Zealand or the United States depending on the data centre, and in my email account. Because DreamHost is a United States company, your information may be stored or processed outside New Zealand.
I keep enquiry records for 24 months, then delete them. If we work together, records relating to that engagement are kept as long as needed for the work and for tax and legal obligations, which in New Zealand is generally seven years.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask me to:
- Show you what information I hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it entirely
Email [email protected] and I will action it within 20 working days, which is the statutory limit. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason to have your data deleted.
If you are in the UK or the EU, you additionally have the rights to restrict or object to processing and to data portability under GDPR. Same email, same 20-day commitment. The lawful basis for holding your enquiry is legitimate interest in responding to a request you initiated, together with the consent you gave on the form.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, so anything you submit is encrypted in transit. Submissions are stored outside the publicly reachable part of the server. Access is limited to me.
No system is perfectly secure, and I would rather say that plainly than claim otherwise. Please don't send passwords, account credentials or financial details through the form. I will never ask for them.
Complaints
If you think I have mishandled your information, tell me first at [email protected] and I will try to put it right.
If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz. UK residents can contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your information is handled, the date below changes with it. Material changes affecting people whose details I already hold will be emailed.
